I have the fingerless mitts perfected.
This pair has the right propotions for the hand but is a bit short on the wrist area. It is supposed to allow you to grip that cold steering wheel with covered hands but leave enough room for you to dig for coffee change, or sign last minute homework notebooks [...]

I’ve Almost Got It!

I found a pattern for wristlet thingies for girls. I made a couple pair from the pattern and they came out OK but I thought “I must be able to make them go higher up on the palm of the hand than that”. This was my first attempt at extending them. Okay but nothing to [...]
My New Years’s Resolution

It was to knit a bed spread.
Jade got me a calendar for Christmas that had a knitting pattern for each day of the year. I took a scarf pattern and made it wider. Then I began to knit strips. It took me 8 months but I finished it last night.
Please excuse the rest of the [...]
Just Playing Around

I love to knit but I detest make useless stuff. I want the things to be usable.
Recently we have been renovating our house. I wanted every rug out and I only have 2 small ones left to go. The wooden floor finish is not as cozy as the rugs but is so much more sanitary. [...]

…so I made one.
I bought one of you twisted sisters a nice gift that will remind you of when we were young and full of dreams. It didn’t come in a box though so I had to make one. One of you will be getting this nice box containing the gift for Christmas.
Since I was in [...]

Today I managed to get the boys showered, get haircuts for all 4 of us, do the grocery shopping, cut up and freeze some chicken, pork and ham for kabobs and work a tiny bit on an afghan for a friend. Now it is almost bedtime and I have run out of steam. I still have [...]

I have the feet knit on 12 out of 20 socks. You people with warm feet should be thankful that I got struck with the flu. I didn’t feel like moving so you got your feet knit.
Today is the first day I have started to feel human again. Two weeks of this flu is enough. [...]

I have been struck by the flubug. Nasty critter.
I have zero energy. The laptop is going to have to be surgically removed from my lap. I am just too pooped to pucker. I even forgot one of my insulin shots. Brain fog.
I have managed to refoot 6 socks but not much else. My house looks [...]

Thanks to Google, I have narrowed by aching legs down to 28 possible diseases. Don’t worry folks only 27 and 1/2 of them are fatal.
On to regularly scheduled programing:
We are to meet outside the Hawk Church at 11:30 on Sunday or the ‘wrath of Mother Hubbard’ will descend upon us. Everybody. It is Mother’s Day [...]

When I last left you dear folk, I was headed grocery shopping. Have any of you ever grocery shopped with 3 males ranging from ages 6 to 48?
No?
Take my advice. Don’t do it.
$314 later and I am not going for another 2 weeks. They can eat balogna every meal if we run out of food [...]
